2009/2010 ANNUAL MEETING:

This Section held educational programs for its membership and law students on topics including "Understanding the Maryland Insurance Administration’s Regulation of Health Insurance and What It Means for Your Client", presented by Beth Sammis, Deputy Insurance Commissioner, Maryland Insurance Administration; "Reporting Physicians - Analyzing the Latest Opinion from the NPDB", presented by Sigrid C. Haines, Esq., of Lerch, Early & Brewer, Chartered; "Understanding the Health Services Cost Review Commission (HSCRC)", presented by Jay Levy, Esq.; and a legislative roundup summarizing health care legislation passed in this year’s General Assembly Session. It also established a subcommittee to analyze Federal health care reform legislation.

New Maryland Legislation, Effective July 1st Requires New Mandatory Procedures for Subpoenaing Medical Records

  1. To bring together members of the MSBA interested in health law;

  3. To sponsor health law publications for the benefit of the bar and public; and
