2009/2010 ANNUAL REPORT

This Section sponsored CLE programs such as panel discussions and keynote addresses given by leaders in the fi eld of environmental law. It provided opportunities for its members to interact and network with colleagues during events such as its Annual Dinner and a service-oriented program. The Section also assisted the ABA Section of Environment, Energy, and Natural Resources with its Annual Fall Meeting, held in Baltimore, and will co-sponsor a panel discussion with the Real Property, Planning & Zoning Section at MSBA’s Annual Meeting. It continued its outreach program to area law schools in which Section members addressed students of the University of Maryland School of Law and the University of Baltimore School of Law on careers in environmental law.

PURPOSE

The purpose of the Section of Environmental Law is:

A. To bring together members of the Maryland State Bar Association interested in environmental law;

B. To promote the continuing legal education of the bar in environmental law;

C. To sponsor environmental law publications for the benefit of the bar and public; and

D. To work on a cooperative basis to improve the law and promote the interest of the public and members of the bar in environmental law.
